7 Quick Takes Vol. 4

My husband was out of town this week, and he was gone from Monday through Thursday. This was the first time I spent the night alone with baby, let alone an extended period of time. It was tough, but I enjoyed it! I feel stronger now that I was able to handle it (taking care of baby, house and dog) all by myself with only one meltdown on my part. 🙂

Had a great morning with baby today. We found a really nice neighborhood with a park and went for a long walk. It was great. The area where we live really isn’t great for walking, and I miss it so much because hubby and I walked almost every day in Pittsburgh. I’m hoping that we will be able to buy a house in this area because it had such a nice neighborhood feel.

I’m losing weight! I have really been keeping up with my working out and eating well and it’s paying off. Yay!

Tonight I need to stop at Ulta to get my favorite mascara, Prestige Cosmetics My Blackest Lashes. It is only $6.50 and it is my favorite mascara of all time. I am a recovering product addict and I have tried just about every mascara out there, high-end and drugstore. For me, this is the best of all. No kidding and I’m not getting paid to say so! I am allergic to something in a lot of mascaras and I have no problem with this. It does not flake or transfer and my lashes look amazing. Love.

My daughter loves playing with toys, especially something she has never played with before. This week in an attempt to give her something new to entertain her for a while I discovered great success with a wet washcloth, plastic lids, and her food bowls. So, guess I could have saved money on toys and just given her household items to play with….

Tomorrow morning I am getting my hair cut and I have to get bangs. I don’t particularly like the way I look with bangs, but I need to get them because of all of the little baby hairs growing in around my hairline. I lost a TON of hair after my daughter was born (a disturbing amount per day from when she was 3-5 1/2 months) and now it is growing in. As a result, around my hairline I have a ton of short little baby hairs that look ridiculous. To hide them I think I’m going to get a little bang.

Baby milestone: Crawling! My daughter is 7 1/2 months and she has been rolling all over the place for months but she never did much forward movement. Yesterday she started crawling and now she’s going crazy with it. It’s amazing how in one day babies go from not doing something to being a pro the next day!
